Winfield Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care, recently hosted a well-attended public education evening with specialist Jeremy Nettleton, who delivered an informative presentation on navigating prostate treatment options for men.

Mr Nettleton shared his expertise on various prostate treatment pathways, helping men understand their options when facing conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — an enlarged prostate. His presentation addressed both symptom management and quality of life considerations, offering guidance on modern treatment approaches including minimally invasive surgical options.

BPH affects a significant proportion of men over 50 and can lead to frequent urination, weak urinary stream, night-time urination, urgency and incomplete bladder emptying. These symptoms often compromise daily functioning and overall well-being.

The interactive format allowed attendees to gain valuable knowledge about treatment alternatives, from medication management to advanced surgical techniques. The thoughtful questions asked sparked meaningful discussion, reflecting genuine interest in understanding treatment options.

We were delighted to host such an informative session,” noted Winfield Hospital. “The questions were thoughtful and sparked meaningful discussion, truly reflecting the audience’s genuine interest in understanding their treatment options.”

This initiative demonstrates Winfield Hospital’s commitment to community health awareness and providing valuable resources beyond clinical care. By hosting such events, the hospital bridges the gap between medical professionals and the public, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their prostate health.
